Every monthly donation helps more HIV+ Kids like Mhalappa
Mhalappa is a 7 year old HIV+ child whose parents died of AIDS. Mhalappa also suffered from T.B. Unable to battle the illness, he dropped out of school. He was then registered under Swadhar's, 'Rays of Hope'.
He is now on a protein-rich diet consisting of peanuts, jaggery, dates, eggs and milk powder and antiretroviral treatment. There is a substantial improvement in his health. He was re-enrolled in school. Now Mhalappa is a happy, school going, child. Though there is an improvement in his health, he is very susceptible to opportunistic infections and often falls sick.
But he is no more bedridden, with adequate nutrition he has the strength to battle this disease and with care, he is a happy, secure child.
