Every monthly donation helps differently abled people like Galamma walk
Galamma's life changed in 2004 when she lost a leg to an accident while working in the coir industry. Her father's subsequent death only made things worse for the family. But not being one to give up, she started walking with the help of crutches and decided to go back and finish her schooling.
After being advised by the govt hospital to visit Uma Educational Trust and Society (UETS), she approached them, following which she was given an artificial leg. With grit and determination, she not only finished her schooling but also graduated from college and enrolled for D.Ed in Special Education (Mental Retardation) at UETS.
Today, she is proud to be a Special Educator for intellectually challenged children. She considers this journey to be nothing short of a transformation and is thoroughly indebted to UETS as well as to the donors who made this possible.
